A cross stitch chart is a grid where every square equals one stitch. Once you know the symbols, it's simple to follow.

The parts of a chart - **Squares** — each one is a single full cross stitch - **Symbols** — each symbol means a specific thread colour - **The colour key** — lists every symbol with its DMC code and name - **Bold lines** — mark every 10 stitches to help you count - **Centre arrows** — show the middle, where most stitchers start

Working the chart Start from the centre and complete one colour area at a time. Count carefully from the bold guide lines. Our charts include all of the above plus stitch counts and a skein estimate.
